Little Ilford Park
Client: Newham Council
Budget: £230,000
Date: September 2010
The brief was to extend an existing playground, opening it up into the surrounding landscape incorporating natural play and inclusive designs. Bespoke climbing frames sat among the varied beautiful mature trees allowing views out across the rest of the park.
Extra funding supplied by Aiming High helped to provide equipment that was accessible to less able children, enabling all to play in every area of the park. The central tower was fitted with a ramp to allow access to children with walking difficulties to experience being high up over the site, along with their more able friends. The majority of the equipment was bespoke, built by our craftsmen and approved by RoSPA for safe play. A sand pit which incorporated water play provided hours of enjoyment during the summer months.
